PROJECT LAUNCH DANCE FESTIVAL July 15th-August 3rd 2013

Project Launch Dance Festival is committed to connecting adv/pre-professional dancers with world-renowned companies and choreographers in an intimate environment. The festival engages the selected future generation of dancers on a journey through rigorous training, auditions, networking, career consultations and movement exploration in which the dancer gains a deeper understanding of today’s dance world and the possibilities within.

Limited to 50 advanced/pre-professional dancers in the following age divisions 14-16yrs, 17-22yrs

158 hours of training

45 hours of choreographic labs & repertoire

Selected Participants will experience an intense three week journey of movement exploration, rehearsals, education, auditions, networking and pushing physical boundaries in rigorous technical classes all developed to aid the dancer understand their full potential and opportunities as the future generation of professional artists.

The Launch Summer Festival is unique in that it is not affiliated with just one professional company or training style but exposes the dancers to a variety of todays leading companies, choreographers, philosophies, techniques and styles. This broadens the participants understanding of the dance world and provides a diverse platform of opportunity and exposure.

Dancers will have the opportunity to watch professional dancers perform and participate in open forums where they may ask questions and receive personal guidance from world renowned artists.

Auditioning dancers should be focused, versatile, and open to artistic direction as well as new ideas of the creative process as they study and learn from the professional artists while exploring their own artistic voice. Dancers should have the commitment and stamina to dance intensively at least 45 hours per week, six days a week (Monday - Saturday, Sundays off).

The third week will culminate in a performance at the theater of the choreographic works created during the lab portion of the festival.
