CURRICULUM

Classes

For three weeks, dancers will work in a unique and intimate environment with several prominent artists. The program and curriculum is designed to increase the student’s technical foundation in a supportive, focused, atmosphere while allowing the student freedoms to explore a variety of genres. The first half of each day will be focused on the core classes of rigorous ballet and modern technique. Dancers will also take supplemental classes in ballet variations, improvisation, GYROTONICS and other elective classes.

Career Consultations

Education is the key for any dancer’s success. Launch dance festival strives to foster development, education and relationships between the professional faculty and the students. Technique and repertoire classes will be supplemented with career consultations and workshops with our esteemed faculty in a variety of important topics that will encourage a dancer to broaden their understanding and define their career possibilities.

Auditions/ Performance

Auditions will take each Monday and students will be chosen by the weeks representing choreographers and companies to join them in choreographic labs the second half of each day. There, students will collaborate with the artists creating contemporary work that will be performed in the theater on the last day of the festival. All dancers will have the opportunity to work with each professional artist either in classes or in the choreography labs.
